Westinghouse did a great job on the TX-47F430S LCD TV - which offers a resolution of 1080p. I think the fact that it is so large and affordable might have swayed our decision if only a little bit. Of course size is not the only important factor that we have to look for. It may be a feature that we all want - but there are many more to look at. Like the four HDMI inputs that it has and the many digital video and analog inputs. It does also have two built in speakers that are only 10 watts - which is a bit disappointing - but there isn't a television out there that is going to give you the perfect sound. You would have to invest in a nice stereo system for that no matter what television you choose. To make up for the low wattage on the two speakers Westinghouse added a subwoofer that gives out 15 watts. The mix of all three helps to balance the sound. This way the sound won't be too loud or soft but just right. The color temperature was a bit too high. We noticed that the saturation was a bit too much making certain colors look too bright and unreal. We noticed that green was the worst color. In scenes that had natural green items (like grass) it looked great - but you could see that skin tones were a bit greenish and unnatural. Because of this you are going to have to calibrate the television settings to the look that you want. We found that if you were to lower the settings 20% than the default level that you would achieve the look you want. The price of the Westinghouse TX-47F430S ranges from $1,000 - $1,300. The price looks great - but the fact that the television is fair in the performance department is something to consider. It may be a good stepping stone for those who are just looking for size and not quality. But if quality is something that is important to you than you may want to think twice.
