The maker of the VP42 - Vizio - is not a common household name that many people recognize. While it is true that Vizio is not always known for their high quality LCD televisions it doesn't mean that they are something to shy away from. Vizio is the brand to look for when you are willing to sacrifice a few good features for something that is low cost.

The VP42 has some important pros and cons to it. Color rendition and black levels are somewhat fair. When it comes to the HDMI inputs you can expect good connectivity.

Another great feature that we love to mention is the QAM capable digital tuner. This will enable you to receive over-the-air digital signals without using any sort of control box.

The only thing lacking in the VP42 is the picture quality. The edge enhancement is overdone and the green color in the picture usually switches to blue. It also seems to have a problem keeping up with the details of fast moving pictures.
