Panasonic TC-42PX14

Panasonic TC-42PX14Plasma TVs don't have to be for those with huge budgets only any more. Thankfully, some modestly priced models are making their way to market in 2009, and one of the better ones is the Panasonic TC-42PX14. While Panasonic has also released a number of the high-end plasma televisions for this year, the TC-42PX14 will work just fine for those who can't afford to spend a fortune.

Some of the features you'll notice that make viewing much more pleasurable with the TC-42PX14 include the Viera Image Viewer and Viera Link.

But it's the resolution that matters most with plasma, and it doesn't come up short here. True, at 720p it's not quite up to the level of the 1080p of most of the larger, 42 inch plasma screens. However, for 90% of viewers in 90% of situations, the 720p works fine and provides a still-lovely image. After all, most TV transmissions are still in 720p, even though 1080p is featured on Blu-ray players and a few TV channels.

Contrast ratio on the TC-42PX14 is 15,000:1, which upsets the brightness level a bit. Still, for the price, you get a rich image and an enjoyable TV viewing experience that you can afford.

Panasonic TH-103PF10EK Plasma TVWant a really big plasma TV with an amazingly detailed picture? The 103 inch Panasonic TH-103PF10EK Plasma TV boasts never-before-achieved picture quality, with a full HD resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels, 1000 cd/m2 brightness and 4096 brightness gradations. 16-bit image processing technology ensures that motion scenes have the ultimate clarity. Digital zoom is also available. The contrast ration is 5000:1. The "Super Cinema Mode" offeis 1rs an extremely rich shade of black that make dark scenes come alive.

With a TV like this, you'll get lots of people wanting to come round to watch, so the Panasonic TH-103PF10EK has a viewing angle of greater than 160 degrees to allow for a large audience. You can rotate the display 90 degrees to view it in full portrait mode.

This TV supports NTSC, PAL, PAL 60, SECAM and modified NTSC.
Plug-in boards allow for flexibility in professional applications. The 1080p processor helps to reduce MPEG noise.

The image aspect ratio is 16:9. The TV measures 2414 mm wide, 1421 mm high and 129mm deep. It weighs about 220 kg and is supported by a stand along the lower end. The panel is surrounded by a black bezel.

This plasma TV isn't without its drawbacks, however. The cost can be prohibitive, and you might prefer that the money you would have to spend on the TV go towards buying a car, paying off some of your mortgage or putting some money toward your kids' education instead. And if you do think that the amazing quality is well worth the cost, you may find that installation can be a problem. Because of its huge size, the TH-103PF10EK needs to be installed by a team of professional AV installers, and it can take them hours to get the job done. So you will need to set aside some time for this and wait patiently before you can start enjoying your new enormous 103 inch plasma TV.
