Panasonic TH42PX70

When it comes to the market of high-end flat screen TV's plasma televisions don't seem to be controlling the market the way they used to. But Panasonic is hoping that the new TH42PX70 will turn things around.

Panasonic is hoping that the display's incredible black level will be enough bait to attract potential consumers. It also offers default accurate greyscale, color and gamma temperature tracking that most people thought was next to impossible to achieve.

They took a big risk by sacrificing internal scaling and de-interlacing in order to create this technology. Whether or not this was a good move is something that we are still debating. But besides all that the TH42PX70 is great for those who have the option to outsource their SD scaling and de-interlacing.

Panasonic has priced the TH42PX70 at a whopping $1500. As we said before the market for plasma televisions is not at its peak. Hears hoping that Panasonic can raise the bar and do well with it.

JVC LT-32X776

The JVC LT-32X776 television was created with fourth generation Digital Image Scaling Technology (D.I.S.T) and GENESSA - a 32-bit CPU that controls picture refinement. D.I.S.T. uses a digital algorithm to up convert any video source to 770p. Because of this the usual jagged lines in the original source are smoothed away and the vertical resolution is enhanced. This is exclusive only to JVC.

One feature that we were most anxious to see at work is the HD DSD (digital Super Detail) edge enhancement. This technology keeps the picture completely focused on anything that you are watching. Whether it is something that isn't moving or something that is moving at a high speed it keeps everything crisp and defined.

The HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) connection provides lossless, uncompressed audio and digital video. There is only one-wire connection for audio and video functions and it is integrated for remote control functions. It takes advantage of HDCP (High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection).

With all this technology you can expect that the picture you are watching is perfect. The black levels is something that could use a little work - but most people do not pay too much attention to that. You can expect that any movie you watch will jump right out at you - more so because of the HD qualities than anything else.

We also give props to the audio. There are some televisions that choose not to focus on this. So while they deliver a crystal clear picture the audio makes it feel a little flat. JVC focuses equally on both qualities.

The cost of the JVC HD LT-32X776 runs from $1500 - $2000. Obviously this is one of the lower end models for HD - but at that price you can't help but give it a try.

Humax U23 Flat Screen

The Humax U23 is one of the newest flat screens that has been released and has been set apart as unique when compared to the other flat screens out there. It is one of the few flat screens that can be mounted on the wall in any room in the house.

As can be expected the LCD screen makes for great viewing by giving you the crystal clear picture that you want. The fact that it is so lightweight can give you many possibilities on where you would like to keep it at. You could always put one in your bedroom, another one in the kitchen, and of course the living room.

But the fact that it is lightweight is not what makes this TV so unique. The U23 features HDMI in, Scart and even has a PC input. Do we have your full attention now? The fact that you can hook it up to any computer or Xbox 360 system and that it has a 720p display makes for an awesome gaming experience.

The U23 is said to be going around $550 making it a bit on the pricey end. The fact that it can give you a better gaming experience and it can be put in any room (even in the bathroom if you really want to be creative) makes it worth the money.
