This Sharp model has a 1.080p/24 Hz signal output, an HDMI 1.3 output and the possibility of Dolby TrueHD in a PCM signal with up to 7.1 channels to convert. The BDP Aquos has a quick-start drive, for those with an impatient nature, and an output of up to 1.080i but only on Blu-ray discs.

Sharp's elegantly and simple-optics are very good quality. However, glossy black elements of the casing are seemingly easily scratched. The device's display is too small and offers too little information. The front panel is clean and functional, as well as the Blu-ray/DVD controls on the front of the unit, but lacking a standby and eject button.

The Aquos is a very good player, the wiring is very accurate, the power supply section is relatively expensive and also the drive unit leaves is a quality unit. Overall score in relation to the price class is excellent.
