Hauppauge HD-PVRThe HD-PVR is a USB device that captures the component video and analog/optical audio outputs of any consumer device (including cable/satellite set-top-boxes, HD Disk Players, video game consoles, and various other home media devices). The Hauppauge HD PVR is around the same size as the Apple TV unit. It can connect any HD imaging device, transferring footage captured by it, direct to your PC. It has both Optical Digital and Coaxial outputs, to record sound. Plus a loop through function ability.

Capturing is simple, connect the Hauppauge HD PVR to your computers USB port. Install the Arcsoft software provided. Connect the HD, or high quality SD imaging device, via the output. It can also be connected to your TV.

Allowing you to watch whilst recording, there's no Scart option for SD footage.. But there are superior S-Video and composite connections. For HD footage, S-Video recordings surpass composite.

There's an IR Blaster supplied, for changing channels. Major manufacturers preset codes are installed and a remote supplied. For use with third party units, the Hauppauge HD PVR learns those which are unsupported..

Use the Arcsoft Software to capture and burn discs. Files can be converted from the m2ts format they're captured in, to the more recognised MP4 formatting.. Whereas SD and HD recordings do remain true to source.

Playback results from other sources can be disappointing. Incompatibility problems arise, causing sound loss and stuttered pictures. Not so good, considering the price.
