A few words about Sony's new blu-ray player, the BDP-S350. This is a rare thing, a modern state of the art projection and great sound and picture quality. What is more important it has an Ethernet connection, which is up gradable up to 2.0 and similar to PS3, this is future-proofed through firmware updates. It incorporates many different features, but it is slimmed down to very normal size DVD player and it looks amazing.
Considering its price the picture output is as good as any other costly player. It generates "full HD" 1080p resolution (which is backward compatible to produce a picture far better than those DVD players at 1080i and 1080p), and it can play audio CDs and MP3s etc. The BR discs are quite fast i.e. ca-5-8 seconds on average.
It has a memory stick port that is provided for complete utilization of Blue-Ray Live additional features. The player is 1.1 out of the box a. While the player is region B coded, however, it is successfully tested to ‘B' non-coded (‘0'). The remote control is very interesting. It includes several sync and quick start options. You would also find the player is simple to handle with its ‘Auto Setup' option.
